Sponsored by WestAmerica Bank, the 14th annual Spirit of Solano program cites the civic and social contributions of businesses nominated by the nine chambers of commerce here.
Noting it is the sole provider of emergency services in Fairfield and Suisun City, and it remains the only locally managed, independent healthcare provider in the region, Patel praised NorthBay for its involvement in the community outside the walls of its hospital, specifically its sponsorship of a civic leadership program, the city's new aquatics center and the Run 4 Good 5k that raised $25,000 for the Matt Garcia Youth Center last year.
"We believe the community needs to be healthy along a number of dimensions," said President and CEO Gary Passama, who accepted the honor.
NorthBay was also applauded for its social service programs such as the Alzheimer's day center, and its ABC Clinic for low-income expectant mothers.
