The influenza and holiday season is upon us, with more and more of us flocking to stores for last-minute shopping.
So let me implore of you to be extra diligent in taking measures to protect yourself, your family and your friends. A small, but relatively stable, stream of vaccine is being made available. Please watch for drive-through or walk-in announcements and get vaccinated.
It is not too late to receive protection from the seasonal flu or the novel H1N1 virus.
Consider placing a small bottle of alcohol-based sanitizer in your pocket or keep some in your car. If a store provides antiseptic wipes, take advantage of them after touching doors, carts and baskets. Chances are 10 people before you didn't.
Don't touch your face unless you have just washed your hands. Maintain proper nutrition and exercise. And be sure to practice good "respiratory etiquette" when coughing or sneezing.
Lastly, wash your hands! The life you save may be your very own.
Thank you sincerely for the opportunity to serve you. Here's to a healthy 2010.
